Yes, YES…I am still proud to be an American. Especially on this special day. The 4th of July. Independence Day.

No, my country is not perfect. No place is.

Yes, our leaders are idiots. Then again it seems these days that is an all too common milady.

But almost 250 years of history cannot be reduced to a single moment in time.

But that does not mean I still do not love my homeland, the place of my birth. And while I am finally, truly, and honestly HAPPY in another place, I will not forget my heritage or be ashamed of it. So yes…

So now I must rush off to finish preparations for my proudly Welsh 4th of July BBQ. Goddess bless us all with these words that still hold true today and THAT is what we celebrate on July 4th…
